This is a renovation of a garden apartment in the historic district of Jackson Heights. The building complex was built in 1922 and was one of the first coops in the USA. The owner is a couple who are passionate about cooking, gardening, music and design. We transformed the apartment by removing some of the walls and opening up the space. The wall between the kitchen and bathroom was lowered to incorporate a clerestory and connect the two rooms visually. Reveals replaced the traditional wood trim for a more modern finish.
